I have gotten into the habit of sourcing all personal appointments in Google and then, using my work and Todoist email addresses, invite myself to the meeting. Good, best of luck! If you put a calendar event in todoist, and then need to change it, do you do that inside todoist? It's just a worse way to view that type of event, IMO.īut you're right, it isn't unreasonable. I think it's wrong in principle, calendars are for events, tasks lists are for well. It's not unreasonable to want a weekly meeting to appear as a weekly meeting in a productivity app. "My workflow worked great, now it's all out of whack, my system is essentially broken." Look I'm not the todoist police, use a million integrations if you want. Just because I don't manage my calendar the same way that you do, doesn't mean that I'm less proficient.ĭepending on an integration rather than just checking multiple windows tells me otherwise. If you think it's a recipe for disaster, then getting more practice can make it insignificantly longer without the risk of a sync/integration error happing without you knowing, leading you to believe everything is ok when it isn't. I think it's a little rude to call me inexperienced without knowing the particulars of my situation. I repaired all the events that got altered and we should be in the clear. Sadly there's no option to have a weekly meeting show up on every week in Todoist, so I used Excel to generate a list of tasks with dates and imported that onto a project. I'm worried I'll miss appointments because my calendar is gutted. Some things are duplicated other things are missing. Instead, now I have to untangle my calendars and it's easily 2-3 hours worth of work. If they had given me a clear answer the first time, I would have just generated a long list of meeting dates in CSV format and imported them into Todoist. I emailed support back and then they told me they don't have support for true recurring events. ![]() and what's worse, it completely screwed up my Google Calendar. Sure enough, it didn't fix the recurring event issue. That seemed like the wrong answer, but I wanted to be cooperative, so I did it. They replied and told me to remove and resync the Google Calendar integration. I reached out to Todoist support and asked specifically if there was a way to set up that kind of event. The only problem was a few recurring meetings that would only show up once on my calendar, instead of every Tuesday (for example).
